Shri Premanand Maharaj Ji addresses karma with nuance. He says: yes, karma is real. The actions we have taken in this and previous lives create tendencies and conditions that shape our present experience. This is not fatalism and it is not punishment — it is simply cause and effect, built into the fabric of existence. Understanding this can bring a kind of peace: nothing in your life is arbitrary or meaningless.

But — and this is the crucial teaching — karma is not the final word. He says: God's grace is greater than karma. A sincere bhakt who takes refuge in Radha Rani can receive grace that transcends what karma alone would deliver. He uses the analogy of a government employee who has incurred a fine — the fine is real and ought to be paid — but if the king personally intervenes and waives it, the law still existed but grace superseded it. This is what he teaches about the power of bhakti and surrender.

He also gives practical guidance on how to respond to difficult karma. He says: don't spend your energy fighting what you cannot change or lamenting what has already happened. Accept what is, do what you can, and surrender the rest. Naam jap does not erase karma mechanically, but it aligns you with divine grace in a way that changes how karma unfolds. It brings you closer to the one who has the authority to lighten any load.
